Absolutely fantastic! The movement and combat feels really good and the game manages to strike a really nice balance between platforming and combat. The art and animations are a particular high point for me. Good sound design too. 

Can't wait to see where this goes!

the game is so good can not what keep up the great work it is a great game I can not explain how good it is.

dude the movement is SO SMOOTH. Building up to a full moveset in metroidvania fashion would be an easy way to implement some progression, as would attack strength / quiver size / arrow effects (light/fire arrows?) and max health pickups. even just a few palette-swapped enemies with altered speed, power, health, and/or movement patterns would add a lot of diversity as well as setting of 'harder' sections of the castle. I don't know what all you've got planned for this, but what you've got so far is looking pretty effin' hot!

Personally I love how agile you are right from the start. After years of Metrodvania's, being forced to play halfway through a game before finally unlocking the double-jump or dash ability just gets pretty tedious

Wow! Animation and controls are perfect! Nicely done! I love the diagonal dash. That feels unique. Loved figuring out what to use the arrows for. The platforming challenges were awesome. My advice is to emphasize the platforming challenges! Another bit of advice is to conceive more creative enemy types. Skeletons, slimes and bats are ALWAYS the enemies. Try something else. I love your art and animation though. The skeletons bats and slimes look great! I just want to see what else you've got. The world also feels a little lifeless and empty. Just trying to help. The demo was really really awesome though! GREAT WORK! I will be buying the full game for SURE! You've got talent. Put it on Switch!

Great demo! Controls, animation and sound are just perfect. I miss the story line a bit and the first "Boss" seems to have a simple weak-point. But all seems very promicing to me. Have supported the demo and definitely will buy a full version.

I loved this game, and I can't wait for a full release!

The game is fantastic. I couldn't find a single issue with it really. The animation is smooth, controls are really nice and you feel in control, and the combat is fairly simply yet engaging. I'm noticing some Hollow Knight inspiration combat-wise and I won't lie, it's a good decision to take inspiration from that game. Can't wait to see and play the finished product!

when you finish the game

the controls are great, but my only issue is how few checkpoints there seem to be... maybe if there will be different difficulties the easiest mode could have more.. or idk.. but overall i really like it!

upd - ok u have to find a dagger further in this labyrinth.

An amazing game so far. Really tight controls and responses. I felt rewarded for dodging attacks and hazards. Can't wait for the full game!

The game that you have created reminds me of Blasphemous and Castlevania.It would be be cool to add mouse control options for attack.

Bro ! I created an account just to tell you how good your game is ! I have been playing this game for maybe only 5 minutes but i can feel it. This is really the type of game i would like to play or create ! The controls are fluids and the feedback are just great. The cherry on top to control a very agile character. 

I am very surprised when you say that this game is in early development because this is already so polished ! For example the fact that the resonance of the music change when you go under water, the really beautiful animations of the characters of the fact that the tutorial indication changes directly depending on whether you press the keyboard or a button on the controller, etc.

I can feel this Hollow Knight inspiration in the gameplay mechacnics. Especially in the wall jump and the downward attack when you're in the air. So what I might advise you to do is to add a bounce when you do this. Like in Hollow Knight actually. It would make the character more agile. Unless it's intentional and serves your vision of your game. Which I totally respect.

I am not very good at criticing games but let me tell you that if one day you finish it i will certainly play it.

Very fun game I hope you continue to work on this, I do think making it harder by adding more platforming and things that force the player to move a lot would make it even more fun.

also what do coins do and is there a penalty if you die?

Slick controls and really nice vibe and colour palette.  Some health drops would be nice instead of having to always recharge at the fire.

very, very nice experience. only issues i can think of is how much the game slows down with the old-computer filter thingy, and the lack of a settings menu where you can change things like max framerate and stuff to improve the experience. otherwise, very very good game, with good art and animations to boot.

What a nice and relaxing metroidvania, that I can't wait for the full release of! I played this as part of a pack of 8 Itch.io games on my Twitch channel and out of all of them I think I liked this one the most.

The movement is really smooth and because of the simplistic but very detailed pixel art I never felt like I lost track of the character. Along with this, the gameplay is also incredibly smooth with mechanics that reminded me a lot of Hollow Knight (pogoing, quick dash and wall jumping). 

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this in the full release!

Can't wait for this game to be released, it easily can go against games like Hollow Knight. Try to add more variety with weapons and take notes from dynamic situations caused by player input, as it seamlessly integrates both gameplay and level design. Thanks for releasing this game, it's awesome.

LOVED the smooth animations and responsive controls, cool atmosphere and OST. What I would liked to be improved are the hitboxes of the spikes, I feel like they need to be a bit smaller as sometimes it would hit me even though, visually, my character isn't touching them. Also, more of a quality of life thing, but it would be nice if the coins would get attracted to you automatically once you break a chest or kill a monster and you don't have to pick up each one individually.
